iREM Therapy™ represents the integration of two great Eastern healing perspectives -- Japanese Reiki and Traditional Chinese Medicine. The Usui Ryoho System of Reiki is an energy healing modality most commonly facilitated by light touch, which is designed to help balance and optimize the body's own restorative capabilities at the physical, mental, and emotional levels. Reiki is classified by the National Institutes of Health Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine (NCCAM) as a biofield therapy and, as Larry Dossey, MD (2005) has noted, "...is increasingly being incorporated into modern medicine because of one compelling reason... it works!"
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) developed in China over 3,000 years ago and emphasizes the holistic connection between body, mind, and spirit. One important element of this medical system is the belief that the body has multiple subtle energy pathways (meridians), and that maintaining the flow of this energy is the key to health and vitality. iREM Therapy™ incorporates selected and proven techniques that are a part of Eden Energy Medicine (EEM) which is anchored in TCM principles. Energy Medicine, which Dr. Mehmet Oz (2007) has stated is "the next big frontier in medicine..." recognizes that physical and emotional illness is a reflection of disturbances and/or blockages in the flow of energy within the body.
When combined, Reiki and EEM act synergistically to help ensure that the body's energy system is in optimal form and balance. A typical iREM Therapy™ session lasts ninety minutes and costs $65.00.
The iREM Therapy™ protocol was developed by Dr. David I. Rosenberg, who is a certified Reiki (Japanese Relaxation Therapy) Master Instructor and Eden Energy Medicine practitioner. He has trained with Donna Eden and David Feinstein, Ph.D., and has completed the first year of the EEM Certification Program. Dr. Rosenberg is a member of the International Association of Reiki Professionals (IARP), The Association for Comprehensive Energy Psychology (ACEP), and The International Society for the Study of Subtle Energy and Energy Medicine (ISSSEEM).
